Why does chloride matter more under cover than in the open field?

Because it does not rain under plastic. Outdoors, rainfall leaches much of the salt left by fertigation; in a greenhouse every irrigation adds up and whatever goes in stays in the wetted bulb. That is why we publish the measured chloride of each reference, by ion chromatography to UNE-EN 10304-1 at an ENAC-accredited laboratory, rather than the declared value: PHOSMAX 20, CALCIUM 40 and BOOST UNIVERSAL are below the limit of detection (under 0.05% w/w), while K-FLOW 20 measures 3.23%. This does not mean K-FLOW 20 cannot be used — the potassium for fruit filling has to come from somewhere — but it is the reference in the programme to plan around, watching irrigation-water conductivity.

How should calcium be spread across a long greenhouse cycle?

Continuously, not in bursts. Calcium moves almost solely with the transpiration stream and is not redistributed from old leaves to the developing fruit, so a one-off application arrives too late. In the programme it starts at pre-flowering (BBCH 51-59) and is maintained through set and bulking, when the fruit divides cells and fixes its final firmness. In staggered-harvest cycles, every new set needs its own calcium.

What should be done in the greenhouse between one cycle and the next?

Restore the soil, which is the step most often skipped. A full fertigation cycle under plastic leaves organic matter depleted and salts accumulated. The programme combines TERRA HUMID and FULVEX 50S to replenish the humic fraction with BOOST UNIVERSAL SALINITY, whose specific rate for saline or sodic soils is 5-10 L/ha. This is the phase that sets the starting point for the next cycle.
