FAQs about vineyard fertilization

How do Ecoganic products improve Brix in the vineyard?

+

Brix (sugar concentration) in grapes is improved mainly through strategic potassium applications over veraison (BBCH 81-85). PK-FLOW 20-20 and K-FLOW 20 supply phosphorus and potassium in highly available forms that favour sugar synthesis and accumulation in the berry. Fulvic acids (FULVEX) applied at ripening enhance uptake of all nutrients and improve final must quality.

How can coulure be limited in organic vineyards?

+

Coulure (mass flower drop without set) is limited with algae biostimulant applications at pre-bloom (BBCH 55-57). BOOST UNIVERSAL and UNIVERSAL POWER improve pollen viability, the fertilisation process and flower retention. Applied 7-10 days before bloom, they significantly reduce the coulure rate.

Does post-harvest fertilization matter in the vineyard?

+

Yes, post-harvest fertilization is critical in organic vineyards. After harvest the vine needs to replenish the carbon and nitrogen reserves spent on the crop. Applications of NITROTECH 2.5 and PHOSMAX 20 after harvest strengthen the root system and improve tolerance to winter cold. A good post-harvest recovery translates directly into better bud break the following season.
