FAQs about olive grove fertilization

How many applications does organic olive need per year?

+

Organic olive trees require 6 to 8 annual applications distributed throughout the phenological cycle: 1-2 at bud break, 2 at pre-bloom/bloom, 1-2 at fruit set/bulking, 1 at ripening and 1 at post-harvest. The exact frequency depends on crop status, soil type and climatic conditions each season.

When is fertilization most critical in olive?

+

The two most critical moments in olive are pre-bloom (BBCH 54-57) and fruit set (BBCH 71-75). At pre-bloom, biostimulant and nitrogen application determines the number of viable flowers and fruit set rate. At fruit set, calcium, nitrogen and potassium supply is decisive for fruit development and retention.

Can Ecoganic products be used for fertigation in olive?

+

Yes. All Ecoganic liquid products are 100% soluble and formulated to be compatible with drip fertigation systems without clogging filters or drippers. Soluble powder products (such as NITROTECH 16) must be pre-dissolved in a tank before being introduced into the irrigation system.
