FAQs about Citrus fertilization
How can June drop be reduced in organic citrus?
+
June drop is a natural physiological process in citrus, but it can be minimised with adequate calcium nutrition over BBCH 71-74. Calcium reinforces the cell wall of the young fruit and reduces abscission. Algae biostimulants applied at flowering also improve set and lower the drop rate.
Why is calcium so important in citrus fertilization?
+
Calcium matters in citrus for three reasons: 1) it strengthens the fruit cell wall, reducing physiological drop; 2) it improves fruit firmness and post-harvest life; 3) it helps avoid physiological disorders such as fruit splitting. In organic production, Ecoganic's CALCIUM 40 supplies micronised calcium with high foliar and root availability.
Can Ecoganic products be mixed in the same spray tank?
+
Most Ecoganic products are compatible with each other in foliar application. It is advisable to run a small-volume miscibility test before combining more than two products. Our technical team can advise on the most effective combinations for each crop stage.
