FAQs about citrus fertilization
How can June drop in organic citrus be reduced?
+
June drop is a natural physiological phenomenon in citrus, but it can be minimized with adequate calcium fertilization during the BBCH 71-74 period. Calcium strengthens the cell wall of young fruit and reduces abscission. Algae biostimulants applied at flowering also improve fruit retention and reduce the drop rate.
Why is calcium so important in citrus fertilization?
+
Calcium is essential in citrus for three reasons: 1) It strengthens fruit cell walls, reducing physiological drop. 2) It improves fruit firmness and post-harvest shelf life. 3) It prevents physiological disorders such as fruit splitting. In organic production, Ecoganic CALCIUM 40 provides micronized calcium with high foliar and root bioavailability.
Can Ecoganic products be mixed in the same spray solution?
+
Most Ecoganic products are compatible with each other in foliar application. It is recommended to perform a miscibility test with small volumes before combining more than two products. Our technical team can guide you on the most effective combinations for each crop phase.
